Have you tripped the CUDA switch yet?  Even without RAM, a Maxen can still 
turn on (won't -do- much, of course, but it -will- still turn on.  ;)  Well, 
at least my 3000/180's will... ), so for an actual power-up, I don't think 
it'd really matter which slot RAM's in.
