When I go to the Sonnet web site for the L2 card it says Starmax. http://www.sonnettech.com/product/crescendo_l2.html
Note however that it says: Due to bus speed limitations, this upgrade card is only recommended for Power Macintosh 5500, 6500 and Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh The question is not will it work, but will you get your money's worth. I am aware that some processors from IBM are capable of running at 10 times bus speed. Nothing at the Sonnet web site suggests that they are using such a unit. So as a result the best you can expect to get from a CPU upgrade card is 8 times the bus speed, ie 8 x 40 =320. Unless I am missing something, which is possible, I suggest that anything you pay for an L2 card rated above 320 MHz is buying nothing. Even if Sonnet used a 10 times cpu, the best you can expect is 400 MHz. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
