You can't run 9.2 on a StarMax, but 9.1 is fine for iTunes 2:

Another option is a cheap Mac.  I've seen iMacs as low as $500 and iBooks
for under $700.  They will run the iPod fine.  One of my favorite sites is
dealmac.com.

I *love* my iPod.  It is one of the most-used electronic gizmos in my house.
I was skeptical when Apple first released them, but they sure do change the
way I listen to music.  And, no, I don't work for Apple...lol.
