I don't know if any SM people follow the old Monty Python group but they have a "medical" scene where the doctor's diagnosis of the patient is "Not dead yet!". That's how I feel about my SM. This is one amazing computer. I bought a refurb 4000MT so long ago I forget the date. Since then it has endured many improvements. Full RAM, Rage Orion video card, USB card, 10/100 ethernet, a SCSI card and an IDE card and a Newer 300MHZ G3. I play DVDs and have a CD/RW burner for CDs and VCDs. It is hooked up as my desktop via a SMC router to a DSL connection. The router is also set up for wireless DSL connection for my wife's PBG4Ti400. But the SM still does everything I need. I have no plans to upgrade until the G5s are established and I can find an affordable used/refurb with PCI slots. Maybe the SM will become a server then, maybe it will end up in my wife's 2nd grade classroom like our previous computers did. I still keep a partition with OS 7.6.1 so I can run my old copy of Virtual PC when I need to open WIN95 things. The biggest problem I have now is Appleworks 6 compatibility from my wife's school work back to Appleworks 4/5 on the SM. If someone ever gets an OSX hack going this SM will run forever. I do have a couple questions. I am looking for an alternative screen saver/distributed computing contribution like SETI. I now have 10,000 SETI hours and 353 processed packages. Maybe its time to crack DNA or something else with computer off time. Any good suggestions? Second question, is there a way to back up my wife's Powerbook running OS10 to the SM? Maybe just data files?
