Pardon me if I bring up previously answered subjects.  I was wondering if
any of the G3/G4 tower logic boards would/could be made to fit and be
successful in the SM tower case. This is a fine case and it would be ashamed
to let it sit.

I think you would have a couple of problems. The power supply is somewhat underpowered for a G3/G4 tower board and I'm not sure about the power connections themselves. Also, cooling the unit and simple physical fit will be a problem. It would be much easier to go with an outsized generic tower as they are ment to be modified.
