Unofficially, you can patch 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 to work on a StarMax, see <http://www.os9forever.com/> for more details on the subject. I've tried to get it to work without success - partially owing to a shortage of International English patch data, and maybe also because my copies of 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 are too old - Apple seem to change them every so often.
