With G5 users I know, who know their Macs,
they recommend adding a G4 card to a Blue and White
and maxing out the B & W memory even,
BEFORE going OS 10. . .
so I'd say forget that plan, myself.
The Starmax's memory maximum is a serious expansion limitation.

I don't know about that.. I'm running X.2 on a G3/300 mt, no
processor upgrade and onboard video with 384 mgs of ram orginally, 640
for now and it's solid and pretty quick.. Even on my other G3/300dt with
128mgs of ram and onboard video it's decent enough ( Meaning just a bit
slower tha OS 9.)
