The StarMax 4000/200 (which I have) does not come with an apple CD-ROM so will not run with apple driver. The original Motorola disk contains the driver! I used 8.6 for as long as it has been available, upgrading it from 7 something it came with. 8.6 is excellent OS. However, now running 9.1. Conclusion is I could have done it sooner. It seems to run very well. 9.1 can support USB and you can use a card to get it, which is cool!
