I want to get rid of my SM 5000 250. After installing a battery, I pressed the cuda button and it re-started -- once. But after shutting down, it won't restart. I don't have the time or patience to fix it, and I would like to give it way or throw it away. I bought a used 400 mhz G4 and it serves my purposes.

My first choice is to give the SM away locally. I'm in Philadelphia, near I-95 exits. I'm willing to drive a few miles to meet someone nearby. The SM weighs 40 pounds and UPS would charge about $40 to most part of the US from Philadelphia, probably more than the computer is worth. And note that it would take some tweaking to get it started.

Second choice: I will put it out on the sidewalk as trash. But first I will remove the goodies and send them to someone who will reimburse me for freight cost. By goodies, I refer to an ethernet card, a USB card, PCI cards, a Matsushita CD drive, a Maxtor 30 GB HD, and an external Zip drive. The recipient would have to promise to send me a check to cover my cost.
