It's been normal that a PICT file might be JPEG compressed data, and 
so there's no big deal about it being handled ok. The advantage 
(apart from not having to do a conversion) is that the file size 
stays as it was as a JPEG, it doesn't bloat up to become the size of 
an uncompressed bitmap.
