There is a control panel named "Map Control Panel." It still comes with the
OS(v9.0). It is NOT installed automatically. It IS on the CD though.

If you use it in conjunction with the "current" Date & Time cdev, it just
might help with the daylight savings issue. I'm not sure, though, that it
would be much help. Seems to me that the D&T cdev would be the only thing
needed.

In Map, you can type in a city name from around the world and click Find. If
it's not in the built-in DB, just add it, but, you have to type in your own
lat/lon & time zone (+/- gmt?). If the city IS there, the N/S & E/W
designators and the time zone and +/- check-boxes are automatically
checked/unchecked for you.

The names for the cities already in the Map DB are, I believe, the same
names you would get by clicking "Set Time Zone" in the Date & Time cdev. If
you do add one in Map, it does not, apparently, transfer into the D&T cdev.
Make sure that in the D&T cdev, the "Set Daylight-Saving Time Automatically"
check-box is checked. Then reset the city to somewhere else halfway across
the globe and if DST is NOT in effect at that location, but it IS where YOU
are located, you will see the check-mark for Daylight-Saving Time is in
effect disappear.

With a little trial & error, you may be able to come up with what you are
looking for. But, remember this DOES RESET YOUR SYSTEM CLOCK. There may be a
file that you or the computer needs to be saved that may end up with a date
and time that may not be incorrect.

p.s. Hope this helps a little. If not, nevermind.
