The more that I am learning SNP, the more I really do appreciate the
program both aesthetically, and scientifically!
I am practicing with Hover vs Viewing from Fixed Heliocentric
Position to learn more about the Total Solar Eclipse in Africa in
June 2001.
I select just the correct Hover distance and magnification that I
desire. But then I would like to change the "location on Earth" just
a little from the Location map. I drag the small red circle on the
Earth map just a little for an improved location. The problem is that
when I close the window, SNP "redoes" (changes) the Hover distance
and magnification that I have meticulously set up.
Is there a way to maintain my chosen Hover distance and magnification
AND change the location on earth (other than dragging with the
Location scroller-I would like the map feedback rather than a
numerical feedback on my new location)?
Any input into the advantages/differences of using Hover vs Viewing
from Fixed Heliocentric Position (from the same distance) would be
appreciated. I do understand how the Spherical coordinates system in
the Location window works, but would appreciate anyone's advice in
the use of these two methods.
Thanks very much,
Sonny Taylor
