BOLDLY COMING: STAR TREK SEs? Speaking to Daily Variety, Paramount senior VP of marketing Michael Arkin confirmed that the studio is indeed thinking of revisiting all of their Star Trek films as special DVD editions. While the audio and video quality of most Star Trek DVDs was generally seen as very good, Paramount was criticized for not including any substantial extra features to discs - namely documentaries, commentaries and deleted scenes (it should be noted that Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home's extras were ported over from a laserdisc SE). This time, the studio will be starting the release program from The Wrath of Khan up to Insurrection. The long-awaited Star Trek The Motion Picture - Director's Edition will debut on November 6th.
