BERMAN: THERE WILL BE A STAR TREK XI

In an interview with Cinescape*, Rick Berman was the bearer of good
news for Trek fans when he said:

I can tell you right now we'll be making another film.
There's never been a STAR TREK movie that wasn't profitable
for Paramount. One of the things about STAR TREK movies is
there's no risk in making them because the studio knows if
you spend this much money on producing the film, you're
going to make that much money, or you might make that much
money. . . . There's very little risk involved in STAR TREK
films, so I think we're a long way from seeing the end.

And his feelings about who we might see in such a film?

As to whether the next film will include these [TNG]
characters, or a combination of these characters with other
characters from other series, [or] new characters--that's
   all yet to be discussed.

He also said that characters from Enterprise could conceivably be
involved. Finally, his thoughts on what the movie should be called:

The next film will be STAR TREK 12--[we're] just keeping
   the even numbers.

In other news, Reed Business Information and Baseline Inc. report
that the trailer for Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft III will
appear in theaters before Nemesis, as well as Die Another Day, The
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and Solaris.
