a little correction to do with a rumour regarding
Gillian Anderson. More news from him tomorrow.
Highlight
to read: I just wanted to give you a response to something that I saw
on another website. I was actually on the phone with [Sev: Need to know
basis] and I was surfing some sites while talking and I came across
something that got a quick response from them... It said that Gillian
Anderson would probably be in EPII playing Mara Jade. Now I assume you have
some knowledge about the Star Wars novels and Mara Jade in them. [The person
on the phone] said that the info is absolutely not true and don't expect
Mara Jade or probably any other novel characters in these movies. "Mr.
Lucas is adamant about his desire to separate the novels from the movies and
although some less trivial concepts such as the name Coruscant can spring
from the novels, the lines are clearly drawn." That is close to a
direct quote. We have discussed Gillian and her possible role in EPII and
she certainly may be cast but not as Mara Jade. From my conversations with
my friend I think she may indeed be in the movie but I will stick to my earlier
email to you and say that she will not be a Jedi like everyone is saying
and she definitely won't be Mara Jade.

22 ¬ IGN Movies updated
with an interview with Leo, regarding his latest movie. In the interview, IGN
brings up the topic of Episode-2. Thanks to TF.n for the heads up.
IGN Movies: So
honestly, did George Lucas ever talk to you about being in Episode
2?
Leo: Yeah, I have talked to him. There's no script as of
yet.
IGN Movies: Are you interested in playing Anakin
Skywalker?
Leo: I'll see when I read the script.
IGN
Movies: Give us the lowdown on what you thought about The Phantom
Menace.
Leo: [carefully] I think it was interesting. I think
there's more that can be done, though.
IGN Movies: If George
had shown up on your doorstep with the Phantom Menace script -- in exactly
the same shape you saw on screen -- would you have done
it?
Leo: I don't know. I can't make that assumption, I don't
know.
IGN Movies: Did George give you a date when you'd get a
copy of the Episode Two script?
Leo: No. He just does what he
wants.
