Official German Fan Club Sponsors Easter Weekend Convention
November 16, 2000 -- The Official German Star Wars Fan Club is organizing
its third-ever Star Wars convention next Easter weekend, from April 13 to 15,
2001 in Cologne, Germany, with an appearance by Rick McCallum and a symphony
orchestra among the highlights.
The organizing committee said it expects as many as 1,500 participants for Jedi-Con 2001, which would be a record attendance for a German Fan Club event. Among the highlights of Jedi-Con 2001 is the appearance of Rick McCallum,
Producer of Episodes I and II. While Rick is a confirmed guest, his availability
is subject to any last-minute production contingencies. Other Lucasfilm guests
include Industrial Light & Magic's Don Bies, model maker and head of the
Droid Unit on Episode II; and Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's head of Fan Relations,
author, and owner of one of the world's largest Star Wars memorabilia
collections.
Other guests scheduled to appear include Jeremy Bulloch, Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi; Warwick Davis, Wicket the Ewok in Jedi and a number of characters in The Phantom Menace; Jerome Blake, Rune Haako in Episode I; and Michael Sheard, Imperial Admiral Ozzel in Empire. Another highlight will be a live concert by the 70-piece Metropolis Film
Orchestra, which will integrate the theme of the convention -- The Search for
the Journal of the Whills -- as a multimedia adventure show "with many
surprises" and featuring John Williams music.
The convention hall will house a dealers room with merchants from
across Europe. There will be multiple question and answer sessions with all the
guests, autograph and photo sessions, costume competitions, an art and model
show, workshops, a Gaming Zone, raffles, a video program, online activities and
a major closing-day auction of international Star Wars memorabilia.
The German conventions tend to be multi-lingual because of the makeup of
the guests and attendees from all over Europe and many from the U.S. Package
deals involving reduced rates for the convention and nearby hotels are available
for early registrants. Information is available at www.jedi-con.de. Click on the CON-INFO English

Pois ...cs to vendo?
E conseguimos reunir 500 pessoas!
Agora, me pergunto uma coisa: se a Lucas apoiasse um evento desse tipo no
Brasil E fizesse essa divulgao toda, quantas pessoas teramos????????
2000? 3000? Talvez at mais....
