On Twitter, one can use the api and search twitter, and it works. On identi.ca, one can do that same.
But how can someone perform a search across all StatusNet microblogs? According to the social media experts at work, the StatusNet network needs to be searchable to be taken seriously, as search is the key to analytics which businesses find so very important. Without the potential for analytics, businesses won't participate as they'll have no way to determine ROI. So... how can we implement federated, cross OMB search? I have some crazy ideas, but I'm interested in what others think first. (Ideally, search would search OMB microblogs, not just StatusNet instances.)
