Here is the response from the hosting company:
"The php available is not the bundled version available with centos5.
Right now with our CentOS5 plans we provide PHP 5.2.9 where as the
bundle available with centos5 is 5.1.6 version."
Are there perhaps a package I am missing? Maybe some config?

I've noticed that several people using CentOS have trouble with
StatusNet and the prepackaged PHP. Any chance you can build your own
version of PHP?
