I don't think I understand your requirement, though. You don't like having XMPP in core for some reason? And you're going to wait until it's a plugin before you implement StatusNet?
Why do you care? From a user and admin perspective, it should be transparent. Actually, last year when I was implementing XMPP for my site, I had a lot of issues with configurations. So, Brian had said that with a plug-in interface this would get cleaned up so that it will become easier to configure XMPP and use it. I haven't got a chance yet to look at the new plugin. I will check it out soon and see more of it! :-) I guess, my main issue was just about the configuration of the XMPP and verifying if those are correct or not. Guess, we will have this functionality in the plugin-able interface... I haven't been in this discussion for a long time and so I believe I am surely lagging a bit..Need to brush-up again! Thanks for the check Evan! This really makes me more eager and happy since this shows that you really take interest in everybody post's around here.. (I never said you guys lacked it anytime before. :-)..) You guys are the one of the best one's I have seen working on the open-source arena...Cheers!
