I would assume it could be used separately and just index things as pages but that would not be as useful. It might be useful as a way to create a search system to search a lot of statusnet instances at once though. Is there an up to date list of major instances? I would like to see if that would work. I would also like to get a general idea of how many pages there would be across the whole list to optimize for that number of pages.
