For any TPF developers contemplating a port of the Apache library for the TPF and z/TPF OS, they may find the following documents from IBM helpful.
TPF Systems Technical Newsletter, Vol. 4 No. 4 http://www-306.ibm.com/software/htp/tpf/news/nv4n4/v4n4a14.html IBM's OS/390 is POSIX compliant. TPF PUT 7 introduced a file system based on POSIX.1. Password and Group Files Are a misnomer by Any other Name, Yet They Are Real! http://www-306.ibm.com/software/htp/tpf/news/nv6n3/v6n3a18.htm Discusses some features of POSIX in PUT 10 for TPF. TPF Announces Support of STLport 3.2.1 http://www-306.ibm.com/software/htp/tpf/news/nv8n1/v8n1a03.htm Discusses process to use the OS/390 STLport code for a TPF system. I'm not aware of any effort currently underway but it would certainly be an interesting exercise. In addition, we (Rogue Wave) might need to port the project there in the future so getting a head start now would come in handy. I'm not sure if we have access to a z/OS box at the moment (IIRC, John Hollis had a z/OS laptop at some point) so it might be useful to find out if IBM offers some sort of a "test drive" program similar to the one offered by HP: http://www.testdrive.hp.com/ Martin
