Dear all,
I'm planning to take the "Meteor shower calendar" (Realistic meteor
showers) idea. I setup a Qt Creator environment on Xubuntu and had a
brief view of the code in past few days. Here comes some questions.
1. I would like to know what environment you are using? or is Qt
Creator + CMake a reasonable choise?
2. Meteor shower data is always changing, but i didn't find a useful
auto-update method on IMO or IAU Meteor Data Center website. So is it
okay to keep a stable database along with stellarium? Since the
feature for user to set a meteor shower is required in the idea
explanation, one that contains an average data of last 5 years is what
I'm thinking about.
3. I have no develop experience before, be frankly, which makes it
hard for me to estimate the difficulty of this project, so i would
like to set up some milestones in case i can't finish. I made a simple
one in this way:
"radiant point support -> set location of radiant point(from a
simple database) -> full database support -> drift of the radiant and
change of ZHR -> configuration GUI -> other features"
Do you think it acceptable or is there any thing wrong?
4. Is the form on GSoC page(the Google Doc one) an official
application form? I mean is that the place I'm supposed to submit
application during the student application period?
5. If there's anything more I need to be clear, please figure it out, thanks.

BTW, I'm allenZ on the IRC channel. But maybe I can't talk a lot for
I'm in China (UTC+8), seems far from most of the members :(

Regards,
Benli Zhong
