I tried the windows build. Except for the double size fonts it appears to work 
OK.
I note that there have been many changes to the oculars but the ocular module 
still does not link in windows.
The lack of a splash screen is rather confusing as starting in windows takes  5 
or 6 seconds  before anything happens whereas in the old version the splash 
screen started instantly while the rest of the loading took place.

It's also pretty broken here (huge fonts). I'll try to have a look this WE. In 
general I think this kind of changes should be done first in a branch so that 
we can merge only working code (this kind of device-dependent stuff is hard to 
get right).
