As a matter of fact I find it rather surprising that an 060 plus eg Surf
Squirrel is /too slow/. Not as fast a processor as a Panty-um 200 I
grant you but the 68060 has a reputation for a much more efficient
instruction set and much more efficient use of computing resources
that the 80x86 range. At a 'classic' sports car race I watched at
Brands Hatch a few years ago, a Porche 911 and an E-Type, both
with around 4Litres of pure and violent G R U N T were unable to
get away from a 1600cc Lotus Elan, that came a very close third.
And the Amiga, even without a graphics card, still runs Quake faster
than a low-end Panty-um.

I agree. What about you, Simone?

That's what I suspect may be the case.
Simone and Chris, do you /know/ that Amiga speed is the issue
here, or is this just a hypothesis? If the latter, then might it not
possibly be holding up the search for the real bug in the software?
Also, if you think speed is the problem, then what info is it that you
have been saying since March that you are trying to get out of
Pace?
Talking of the problem with Pace not helping with answers to your
tech questions, how about copying to the user-base your e-mails to
Pace, or posting on the web a not of your tel calls, faxes, letters to
Pace? Then you'll get your custmoers behind you. We can do
some energetic lobbying to help you obtain the info you need from
them.
Please, there are plenty of people here who want to see the
equipment and software we have paid 200+ for /w o r k/ . Not just
for fun, either. We /need/ it to work. We want to help you make it
work.
** Streaking interference.
** Vertical squashing.
