On the other hand, I have just finished listening to a talk by Jon Corbet about some issues with the kernel development process, and one of the things he mentioned was that many new developers find the "all via email" process to be very weird and a barrier to entry. His suggestion is that somebody needs to develop some next-generation patch tooling which can provide the sort of friendly 21st century interface that many people now expect, without losing the scalability and other benefits of the email-based workflow... (It's a frequent pain point for new QEMU patch submitters too.) thanks -- PMM _______________________________________________ stgit-users mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/stgit-users
