As per the do letter cited,  it was informed by the Ministry of Health
and familywelfare
dept , Govt of india to state govt that as per the study conducted by
the center of science and environment which was covered in the
National news papers on 3rd AUG2006 as well as in the electronics
media that out of 57  sample of 11 soft drinks brand of cocacola and
pepsi cola collected from 25 manufactoring units across 12states ,it
was found that these samples contained different pesticides,which are
much above the presciribed standards.The cse has found pesticide
residues of organo phosphorous pesticides and organo phosphorous
pesticides in the soft drink samples tested and analysed by them.

                                 In the above cirumstances and
considering the best interst of the public health , Govt of kerala
have decided to ban the manufacture and sale of Cocacola and pepsi
cola in the whole of kerala as per section 7 (VI)OF PREVENTION OF FOOD
ADULTRATTION ACT 1954 and rules made thereunder.

       The state foodhealth authority ie is Director of health
services shall take steps in accordance with relevant rules of PFA act
1954and rules made there under to prohibit manufacture and sale of
cocacola and pepsi cola in whole of kerala in the interst of public
health,
