Bath stone is much softer than Portland, less durable, but it is a nice
stone. Interestingly enough, Bath stone is very similar to some of the
Texas limestones (and, I believe, similar to the French Caen stone);
Portland is similar to Indiana Limestone.
In a mild climate the Bath stone is durable enough - look at the buildings
in Bath.
