Hi David,

here's a link to the web page of a workshop which I have
attended twice (beginners and advanced). I can only
recommend it, it was very very good.

  http://www.campo-altissimo.com

The beginner's course starts out with selecting your own
piece of marble in a river bed - in itself an
unforgettable experience. The advanced courses are about
using power tools, among other things.

Courses are available also in Greece. The ones in Italy
are in the close neighbourhood of Pietrasanta: beginners
in the village of Azzano, isolated, high in the
mountains, great view over the sea, chapel with
Michelangelo-attributed rosetta, another chapel in ruin.
Advanced courses in Piano di Mommio, less picturesque,
less secluded, more fit for small trips.

Accomodation ranges from shared rooms to single,
conditions are modest. Participation in the second and
subsequent courses is at 10% rebate.

Regards,
Andrei
