of info.
Also, you may be interested in the following:
Limestone and sandstone are both sedimentary, so both
can have layers.
Sandstone usually consists of quartz, cemented with
silica, iron oxide or calcium carbonate.
Limestone is composed of calcium carbonate and/or
magnesium carbonate.
It is the quartz and silica that determine the visual
difference in the sandstone , giving it a sandy texture.
Sandstone is very durable and more abrasive to cutting
tools than limestone.
