Someone who works with Apache more correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the "It 
works" message from the apache web server?

Based on that I'd imagine that Apache is using your port 80 and IIS either 
isn't running, your site is stopped, or on a different port.

Did you check your event log?

Hi Ben/Scott,

When I went to http:/localhost/, I got the start message saying 'It works'.

But when I went to http:/localhost/default.aspx, I got the 404 error again
i.e, URL not found.
