Ben,
You can increase Java heap memory used by maven by setting a large
value. If you're building on Windows, do a set MAVEN_OPTS=-Xmx1024m
before doing a mvn clean install. Likewise, export
MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx1024m" on Linux.
