STOP NATO: NO PASARAN! - HTTP://WWW.STOPNATO.ORG.UK

Last Autumn NATO spokesman Mark Laity, very
begrudgingly and very shamefacedly, was forced to
acknowledge that a total of some 2,300 bodies had
been exhumed in Kosovo after the most exhaustive of
international forensic examinations. and, to
paraphrase Laity, those were likely to be the only
ones unearthed.
This despite the fact that NATO - and Human Rights
Watch - had claimed, respectively, that 2,000 and
1.200 citizens of Kosovo had died *prior* to NATO's
bombing.
Furthermore, Laity was compelled to admit that:
He had no idea of whose bodies had been discovered.
That he had no idea of how they had died.
That those bodies were buried between January of 1998
and roughly September of 1999; which is to say, a year
and a quarter before NATO's war against Yugoslavia and
at least three months afterward.
Knowing as we now do that at least 1,300 ethnic Serbs
have been murdered in Kosovo and an additional 1,3000
Serbs are missing; that, according to Roma (Gypsy)
sources that at least 1,000 Roma are dead or missing
and presumed dead; that entire ethnic communities,
including the centuries-old Jewish community in the
capital city, Pristina, the Egyptian community, the
ethnic Turks, Goranci, Bosnians, Croats, Magyars and
others have been targeted for expulsion and
extermination,
it seems amazing - if not in the least surprising -
that the figure for Kosovo dead steadily increases
from 1,200 to 2,300 to 3,200 to 4,000 - and beyond to
astronomical numbers.
The only problem for the proponents of "genocidairism'
is that the International Committee for the Red Cross
conducted two surveys in Kosovo - one in August of
1999 and the other in April of this year - that can
only account for some 1,000 ethnic Albanians, of a
population of over 2,000,000 Kosovo residents, that
are recorded missing.
So what accounts for, to use a fashionable phrase
during the war, "the worst genocide since Hitler"?
The answer is, bluntly, nothing.
All the Trepca Mines and "refrigertaor trucks" tabloid
ex post facto justifications for NATO aggression are
so much tawdry war propaganda. What is not in dispute
are the thousands of perfectly innocents civilians
murdered in cold blood since NATO marched into the
province with its KLA adjuncts in tow in June of 1999.

Call it reality testing.
