As for taxation, Serbian and Yugoslav tax authorities were pretty lax on enforcing tax laws among ethnic Albanians and did not even enforce conscription provisions for the army - thus many Albanians in Yugoslavia ended up paying NO TAXES or NOT SERVING IN THE ARMY due to the governments DESIRE TO AVOID CONFLICT AND NOT TO ALIENATE A SIZABLE PORTION OF THE YUGO POPULATION.
