I'd like to start a discussion about FCP target implementation
based on the current iSCSI work. Current iSCSI target by
Rick McNeal was designed with support for more than one
transport in mind. So extending it for FC SCSI should be
a logical step. Upcoming ZFS-iSCSI integration should
provide even more incentive for this project.
FCP target introduces some interesting challenges.
1. FC Transport interface - driver for the FC HBA.
Which HBA ? QLogic seems to be logical candidate.
Combined initiator/target driver or specialized target driver ?
If specialized driver, how to make different drivers bind
to different instances of the similar cards ?
If combined driver, then how to deal with currently closed
qlc driver ?
2. LUN masking/mapping
Need to create a relatively simple model. (Shouldn't be
too hard, though)
