Hello all. I'd like to do such thing. Tape drive is connected to VMware ESX 3.0.1 One of a guest OSes is latest SolarisExpress which has shared tape drive (Certance LTO-2) I can do "mt -f /dev/rmt/0 status" and do ufsdump on the device - everything is OK. Now I'm going to share the tape drive via iscsi for Windows client (ntbackup) with MS initiator. I've tested config for shared disks - slow, sometimes drop connection but can work. But when I do "iscitadm create target --type raw --backing-store /dev/rmt/0 tapedrive" I got error that ... backing store is not valid raw device. Also type "disk" (the same error) and "tape" (cannot be emulated in 32 bit mode) don't work.
How to do that? Thanks for your help and ideas. This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
