Yes, I understand all of this.
What surprises me is that Solaris accpets the malformed iqn when in dynamic 
mode.
If Solaris accepts it in this mode, maybe there is some way to do it in static 
mode too.

I really hope that Adaptec comes with a solution to let me use the correct iqn 
name, or I won't be able to use it in static mode, consequentely I won't be 
able to use the round-robin feature (2Gbit) that cannot be enabled in dynamic 
mode.

Finally, I really don't understand why Adaptec is selling an iScsi hardware 
that doesn't adhere to the RFC iqn.
I already stumbled upon this on another installation, when the iScsi hardware 
guy told me an alias name instead of the original iqn.
Why can't I use the alias name?
Giving me the opportunity to use aliases would let me simplify naming in my 
local LAN, where I don't need that specific uniqueness needed on the Internet.

Am I wrong?
