Esata is a specification for the  cables, connectors, and signal requirements 
for  external SATA storage.  Please see http://www.sata-io.org/esata.asp and

As long as it is supported on both the SATA controller and SATA device side, it 
should work in Solaris nevada, because signaling level is generally transparent 
for the drivers (it is handled by the hardware). However, it was not officially 
tested.
