Basic answer - because you need a higher layer to provide the
correct information to the switch. When you're at OBP this higher
layer (the fp module) isn't operating.


I believe I have the correct patches (119470-09 & 120222-13) for the SG-XPCIE1FC-EM4. I am using a Brocade Silk Worm 3200 switch. No rmt# assigned.

You might want to try changing the parent=.. bit so that it reads

If that doesn't work for you after a reboot, I suggest that you
log a call with Sun and provide a live crash dump for PTS to
