I am running Solaris10 on a V240. With the latest
patch clusters installed. I am trying to set up an
iscsi connection to an Overland REO4000. I am able to
successfully initiate and connect to the target, but
the system will not reboot. The system just hangs. If
I boot from cd and remove the iscsi file in /etc/iscsi
the system will then boot fine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Not a solution, but possibly a hint...
I have an open case against S10U3 in that if I am using various
Veritas products (had from VCS, vxconfigd from VxVM if memory serves)
I notice that iscsiadm will not work if those products have been
initialized before iscsiadm runs. This is because iscsiadm is trying
to use a semaphore taken out by the various Veritas products. I've
also noticed that iscsiadm leaks two semaphores per invocation when
this happens.
Do you have other non-Solaris products installed that may be tripping
up iscsi at reboot? If you force a core dump, what does ::ipcs in mdb
say? Can you "boot -m milestone=none" to avoid the need to boot from
CD?
