Hello, I have some disks that I'd like to export as read-only over iscsi. Is this possible? I read through the man page for iscsitadm, and it doesn't mention this possibility. Any suggestions?
Just for background information: The disks are from a Linux software raid-5 setup. The controller keeps having problems under Linux, though, and the Solaris support for it is apparently much more stable. So I want to read the data off without putting the buggy Linux driver in the data path so I can back everything up, then migrate to Solaris. So I'll export the disks from Solaris, then import them on Linux, mount the array, and copy the data to a third machine. It might be slow, but it should work. On another topic, what's the current status of port multiplier support with the Marvell 88sx6081 controller? This (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5137874&tstart=60) seems to indicate it's unreliable with the Sil3124, but (http://blogs.sun.com/pawelblog/entry/sata_framework_overview_part_4) seems to indicate it should be there. If it is supported, are any particular devices suggested? Thanks!
