I agree that testing should be done by the array vendor to determine whether they support mpxio but that wasn't my question. The Sun document I referenced makes the following statement with regard to what mpxio supports, "Many non-Sun Asymmetrical disk arrays". The document also mentions that ALUA complaint arrays are supported.
This suggests that many asymmetrical arrays which are not ALUA compliant are still supported. I would think this can only mean that the multipathing layer has specific code to handle path management functionality of those asymmetrical arrays. So my question is, are those non ALUA arrays that are supported documented anywhere.
