Hi all,
Steps to create replication of raw volume.
1. Configure IP address for local (primary) & remote (seconday)
clusters, and bring up the IP address.
2. Configure the replication using sndradm as follows,
sndradm -ne store1 /dev/did/rdsk/d1s0 /dev/did/rdsk/d1s1 drstore1
/dev/did/rdsk/d5s0 /dev/did/rdsk/d5s1 ip async C rawdg
Execute the same command on both the nodes.
3. Edit the following file,
preliance1#cat /var/cluster/geo/avs/rawdg-volset.ini
store1 /dev/did/rdsk/d1s0 /dev/did/rdsk/d1s1
dtstore1 /dev/did/rdsk/d5s0 /dev/did/rdsk/d5s1
ip async C rawdg
4. Issue the commands to create a protection group with AVS as the data
replication mechanism in it.
5. While adding device group it fails as the IP address is up and running.
When I disable the IP address geopg will create the respective R/RG.
When I try to set the property Enable_volume_set=TRUE it fails to do so.
Problem with this command (assuming that this will start the replication
automatically if any data from primary to secondary needs to be synced up),
preliance1#geopg add-device-group -p local_logical_host=store1 -p
remote_logical_host=drstore1 -p Enable_volume_set=
TRUE rawdg rawpg
Operation failed for the following reason:
Failed to enable volume sets defined in file
/var/cluster/geo/avs/rawdg-volset.ini on node preliance1. Ensure that
volume sets are correctly defined in the file and that Sun StorEdge
Availability Suite Remote Mirror is installed and configured properly on
the node.
I find it bit difficult to configure it this way.
Few questions,
1. Am I doing the right thing by setting this property?
2. If not how do I enable replication?
or Will this be a manual step?
3. What do I do next to enable proper completion of replication.
