sorry for not replying sooner, what i am using is an 8-port, Supero SAT2-MV8. seems to be working well.
it is based on the Marvell 88SX chip (so you might just look for that) Andrew Hettinger http://Prominic.NET || [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel: 866.339.3169 (toll free) -or- +1.217.356.2888 x.110 (int'l) Fax: 866.372.3356 (toll free) -or- +1.217.356.3356 (int'l) Mobile direct: 1.217.621.2540 CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, MCP Alexander Muthmann <[EMAIL PROTECTED] To h0.de> [email protected] Sent by: cc storage-discuss-b [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject s.org [storage-discuss] sata controller recommendation (pci-e) 10/02/2007 06:04 PM Hi there, I'm sorry if I overlooked a fitting thread, but I don't think there is any available. At the moment I'm looking forward to buy a new workstation. My problem is, that I need a 4 port sata sontroller (for PCI-E) and that it MUST be supported by OpenSolaris (currently using snv_72). I found the LSI SAS3041E-R, which is supported by Solaris x86. But it's not available in Germany (anymore?). The adaptec AAR-1430SA looks nice too, but adaptec doesn't lose a word about Solaris support. On several mailing lists I found the info (form dec '06), that it should not work, but no one tried... Is there any other controller you could recommend? Thanks a lot!
