It would seem that the iSCSI Inititiator configuration contained within the Solaris Express System Administration Guide regarding configuring multiple iscsi sessions toa single target is not correct (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2723/gcawf?l=en&q=iscsi+initiator&a=view).
It states that you can configure multiple NIC IP Addresses using the -c option, and as long as they are routable, a connection will be made to the specified target from each of these IP Addresses. I am finding that at best this is unreliable and I end up only connecting with the IP Address that is listed first in the routing table as defined by the netstat -rn output. In the case of my target, there is a single portal, so configuring these IP Address on separate networks, while not impossible, certainly adds an additional layer of complexity to my configuration that I would like to avoid. Is this behavior expected? If so, should this and other documents be changed to mention this requirement if deciding to use IP Addresses as arguments to the -c option? If this is incorrect behavior, is there anything I can do to both have this fixed, as well as configure my server to properly create multiple connections to my iSCSI target volume? Thanks.
