Hi, In testing RAID configurations on a Sun 6140 I began to see over 50% drops in performance running equivalent tests. After validating identical configurations between the previously acceptable performance trials and the underperforming trials I noticed that more servers got shifted to the UPS for the 6140. The UPS load lights that were previously not pegged were now pegged.
At the time it seemed outlandish to factor in the power supply, however, by removing the load on the UPS the performance of the 6140 returned to 'normal'. I guess the 6140 drives lost rotational speed? Could someone speculate on what may have taken place? Oren
