Greetings storage community,
I am Jeff Cheeney (cheeney
<http://www.opensolaris.org/viewProfile.jspa?username=cheeney>) a long
time member of the OpenSolaris community. Most of my time in OpenSolaris
has been as an observer, but I would now like to take on a greater role.
I would like to be a community leader.
As a community leader I would be well qualified to help in the
administration of the community. My skills as a program manager could be
utilized in many ways. I would especially like to:
* assist in the creation of new projects
* be an evangelist for this community and OpenSolaris at conferences
* assist in tracking projects and keeping them vibrant
* blog about the latest happening in the storage world
* liaise with the OGB to keep the storage community aligned with the
broad goals of OpenSolaris
* create new ways to deliver the OpenSolaris Storage technologies
I have already been performing many of these actions by proxy, using
other community leaders to carry out these tasks. I feel the appointment
to "Contributor" or "Community Leader would help remove some of the
burden from the existing leaders and I will be able to further the
outstanding work they have already started.
