I don't know yet. That's why the proposal states that its goal is investigation.
I do know, OTOH, that part of the implementation is LGPL covered.
I think it can help us.

I have no idea, frankly speaking. I was under impression that
SVM is obsoleted/EOLed, although I may be wrong here.
In any case proposal is for device-mapper, which is an enabler
for LVM, but not the LVM itself.
