Some time back, I asked about specific test suites for CIFS Server but didn't receive any replies. Has anyone tried running the Samba 4 tests or other test suites against both Samba and CIFS Server on the same hardware? Or even against some flavour of Windows Server on the same hardware? Unfortunately, I don't currently have access to sufficient spare hardware to try it myself. A reasonable comparison would probably require enough disks for a decent raidz2 configuration. I guess there would be no reason legal or otherwise why performance comparisons between Samba and CIFS Server couldn't be published? Not sure the same would be true about Microsoft products. I've never had the time or legal training to read and understand the EULA ... -- John Connett _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
