I agree that it might be difficult to think of cases where multiple
initiators would access a Media Changer.  Typically such devices are use
to move data between the tiers of a Hierarchical Storage Management
(HSM).  If there was more than one initiator then some attention would
be required to synchronisation.

My own motivation was to use iSCSI as a poor man's SCSI analyser by
capturing the traffic.  Hardly a common use case ...

To turn the question round, why should the Solaris iscsitgt restrict the
commands that can can be passed through to a raw device?  The raw device
should reject any commands it doesn't recognise.
