Sumit et. al,

So i realize that this could very well be an apple or qlogic apple driver bug,
but i thought i would ask for opinions here.

I've successfully setup comstar to be the target for various volumes on my
areca raid. The mac that is directly connected (arb looped) to the target
pickups up the volumes fine and speed testing on the volumes is great. I'm
consistently maxing out the 4Gbs link at 350MB/s.

here is the issue i'm having. As far as Os X is concerned, the fibre disk is
totally fine. I can copy files, capture HD video to the drives in FCP and
quicktime, benchmark it etc...

however, when i try to playback large (HD) quicktime files, quicktime itself
hangs from 30 seconds to upto a couple minutes before it plays the file back
(which it eventually does). Smaller quicktime .mov's (SD, minidv, etc) have no
issues and playback immediately. This leads me to believe it is a quicktime
buffering issue, but again i thought i'd see if you guys had anything thoughts.

Could this be related to the target implementation?

thanks,
Manu
